Why I write this article about converting cbr to epub? Let me explain the reason for you. CBR is actually just a compressed file with an amended file extension. It allows to store a set of comic book images. Each image represents a page or panel of a comic book. CBR files can be opened by CBR Reader. But it’s far from being enough, right? You cannot read the cbr comic files on portable devices like iPad, iPhone, Nook, Kobo, Sony Reader and more. It’s so inconvenient! What to do? Convert the cbr comic files to other widely used formats like epub. Next I will introduce some ways to convert cbr to epub for free. And the methods are really simple.

Part 1: Zamzar Online Conversion

Zamzar offers good online conversion service. We can use it to convert cbr to epub online. The steps are quite simple. Here I show you a picture of its steps. Just follow it, you’ll get your epub files.

Enter site: www.zamzar.com

1. Choose your cbr comic file that you want to convert.

2. Choose the output format as “epub”.

3. Enter your email address to receive the converted files. After the files are converted successfully, they will be sent to you by email.

4. Click “Convert” and it will start.

Really easy to operate, right? If you don’t like receiving the converted files through email just like me, we can consider using the second way to convert cbr to epub. Continue to learn the second way.

Part 2: Online-Convert

Here I recommend online-convert. This site offers us great online conversion service. Here you can not only convert ebook formats, but also can convert video, document etc. For converting ebook formats, it supports various ebook formats like epub, pdf, mobi, lit, azw, cbr and so on. Now take these steps to convert cbr to epub.

1. Go to the site www.online-convert.com . There are various options, just choose “Ebook converter”. Click “Select target format” and then choose**”** Convert to ePub” item.

Then it will lead you to a new window.

2. Choose one way from the three to upload your files that need to be converted.

3. Click the “Convert file” button at the bottom to start converting.

It takes a while to have the file converted. After it is finished, it will download the book automatically for you. If the files are not downloaded successfully, you can also download them manually. There are some notices on the site, you will know what to do.

Part 3: Calibre

Calibre is a great ebook manager, and it can be used to convert ebooks formats. It’s also very convenient using it to convert cbr to epub.

Step 1: Click here to download Calibre .

Step 2: Run Calibre and click the “Add books” button at the top left corner to add the cbr files that need to be converted to it. When you succeed in adding books, the title of the ebooks will show in the middle list.

Step 3: Click once on your selected book and then click the “Convert books” button. Then it will pop up a new window. Then click on the “Output Format” option and choose your output format as “EPUB” at the top right corner of the new window. Click the “OK” button, the pop-up window will close and convert your book in the backstage.

When the conversion is going on, you can see this at the right bottom corner of Calibre. It shows one conversion job is going on. After it is finished, the number will become “0”. The conversion takes a while.

When the conversion is finished, you can double click on the book, it will be opened in Calibre nornally(as the image below). This means it’s converted to epub successfully. You can also copy these converted comic files to other devices or softwares that supports epub format and read on them.

AFTER CONVERTING THE CBR FILE TO EPUB FILE HOW CAN I READ IT ON MY SAMSUNG P3100 TABLET?
